Historical outline
The company derives from the reloading company, Drobnica Port Szczecin, connected with "EWA Stevedoring", "Łasztownia" and "Starówka", the companies operating at the beginning of the 90s. Earlier, from the 1950s, port activities had been performed within the Szczecin and Świnoujście Port Complex. In 1994, the Duty Free Zone was created, which began its official operation the following year. Then, in 2008, the company was taken over by PCC Rail S.A. Then, its name was changed to PCC Port Szczecin Sp. z o.o. In the meantime, the Starówka quay was handed over to the city. In 2009, the company was taken over by the Deutsche Bahn Group. On October 13, 2009, it was transformed into DB Port Szczecin. After two months, a lease agreement was signed with the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority for the Finnish quay (the site of the new container terminal). In the following years, investment activities in the supra- and infrastructure of the new container terminal were intensified.
