Article: New Container Service Launched at DB Port Szczecin
DB Port Szczecin continues to expand its logistics offering. We are pleased to announce the launch of a new regular container service at our terminal in Szczecin. On Saturday, the dedicated feeder vessel m/v Containerships VI, operated by CMA CGM, called at DB Port Szczecin for the first time.
The vessel will now call at DB Port Szczecin on a weekly basis, operating within the PLX Poland Express service on the Szczecin – Gdańsk – Kotka route. This new connection significantly strengthens the range of container services available to our customers.
With the launch of this service, DB Port Szczecin gains a direct connection to the Baltic Hub terminal in Gdańsk, which becomes another key transshipment hub for our terminal. Through this hub, both import and export cargo flows will be handled, particularly for Far East trade lanes.
During the first call of the new service, a total of 1,054 TEU were handled at DB Port Szczecin, confirming the strong potential and market interest in this new connection.
The launch of the PLX Poland Express service marks another important step in the development of DB Port Szczecin and further strengthens our position as a key link in regional and Baltic logistics chains.
